I think I've figured out the mystery of my Australian doppleganger. he might be using tim.briody at the g.

I once recall reading somewhere (a long time ago) that some times this will correctly reach the right location, but other times it will ignore the . in the middle of the address. I'm not sure why that does or doesn't happen.
