The MD88s were already going this year anyway. And both fleets had dwindled already. Last MD90 operator in the world though. -- nm

The 90s didn't have an 'official' exit date previously AFAIK but it was presumed they'd go 'soon' after the 88s.

I think American plans to retire a number of their early 737-800s.

I saw the entire 757 and 767 fleets are going as well.
