This is from a letter of recommendation for a student who's not yet submitted an application.

"(student) performed well in ANTH 120 receiving an ‘A’ in the course. This is one of the reasons I asked them to serve as a teaching assistant the next semester. (student) is a very bright young scholar but sometimes has trouble keeping focus on the courses they are not as excited about. If you require applicants to provide a transcript their application this will most likely be apparent. However, I also believe some of the inconsistency with evaluation may be due to pedagogy and the way material is delivered, assignments are constructed, and overall evaluation is done."
