Every day for years, 4-5 I think, there's been some kind of major construction going on outside my bedroom window. They built a new apartment building across the street, built three new subway entrances, rebuilt the subway vents so they can be closed during flooding and are doing major work on the station below my apartment. I'm sure I'm leaving something out.

This is why we're the city that never sleeps.
