I'm by no means a financial person, but right now companies are reporting Q1 earnings

which in Jan & Feb were ok/high, then things tanked mid-March.
Isn't that why many people are signalling for a recession (and stock market drops) coming, as financials for Q2 become clearer? It's coming, just when is the question?
