I started an outdoor project to hang lights on our patio. Bought small platners, 8ft 2x2, cement, lights of course. We set the poles in concrete

last night. The lights we got are very heavy duty (emphasis) on the word heavy and everything was falling over. Planters are too light and too small.
Have an order in at Lowe's now for wider planters. Going to put the small planters with cement in them inside the bigger planters. Also bought (quite literally) at half a ton of rock in bags. Going to fill the planters with 2 bags each of small gravel and then top it with some red lava stones. Should be about 100-150lb in each planter. I also have some old edging pavers that I'm going to throw into the existing planters when we cover with rock for added weight.
That should hold it :)
