My point is that expanded testing helps Trump make his political point so even within that viewpoint I don’t see why he wouldn’t be pushing for more.

I’m just accepting the fact that it’s political and still don’t understand it. Testing a large number of asymptomatic people is going to greatly increase the number of cases but it will also lower the mortality rate because that’s how math works.
So if I went in with the motivation to open the economy up faster I would want broad testing so I could make the case that the deadliness of the disease was over stated.
Basically more and broader testing seems to make sense for so many reasons even an economic political reason so I don’t understand why it’s controversial at all. Is it just that someone Trump doesn’t like suggested it first so he has to be against it?
