random accomplishment - i made home made refried beans and finally learned how to make papusas. surprisingly easy.

the slaw is great... kept it simple, just vinegar, salt, and oregano.

beans really upped after i charred onions in a pan, made a light chicken stock, ton of garlic, let that slow cook with the pintos for 10 hours... soooo much better.

i'd never worked with masa before, it just felt intimidating, but it's kind of neat how it works up.
