If you're outside walking/riding/exercising, do you wear a mask?

we went for a 3+ mile walk last night, and probably walked past 5 or 6 people on the sidewalks going opposite direction.
Should we be wearing / donning our masks when walking by them?
Is it courteous to do so?
Is it more a safety thing?
Does it matter?

On my nightly walk with my dog I do not, but I also rarely see more than a couple of people and I keep my distance -- nm

If I'm outside of my apartment I'm wearing a mask. I take it off on empty blocks for a breather but put it on before I reach the next

I don't if I'm out walking. But if I see a runner coming towards me, I resent having to breathe in his vapour cloud after he's passed. -- nm

This doc provides a time/respiration exposure calc that would probably suggest passing people outdoors isn't a high risk.

I do. It's hard, I look at it as strengthening my lungs. Yesterday I walked in the sand at the beach and then up the ramps to the pier and it was not

No. Only when I am going to enclosed public spaces. I can always avoid other walkers. -- nm

Of course. LA County-wide, we have to mask up as soon as we leave the house or car. It's hard, but definitely a thing you get used to. -- nm

I have one available, if it was a busy sidewalk I would, I use a neck gaiter with a paper towel (which actually has some protective filtering) -- nm

No. From everything I've seen, someone would have to almost literally sneeze on you outside to transmit.

No. I have it on in the stores and I have an instant headache, I can't imagine exercising in one
