Our neighbors brought us dinner tonight. It was wonderful.

We are friendly with our neighbors across the street. She’s a photographer (she took our front porch “quarantine photos” in March) and her boyfriend is head chef or manager (pretty sure it’s chef) at Olive Garden.
We’ve done small friendly/neighborly things like lend them milk, give them spare sidewalk chalk when their kids ran out, etc. Nothing huge. They asked if I’d be able to let their 9 week old puppy out because they will both be working all day. I said no problem.
They decided to thank us with a full dinner from Olive Garden. This included a catering-size bowl of salad, bottle of dressing, a lasagna that I’m pretty sure weighed at least 5 lbs, 2 packs of breadsticks, a bottle of Pinot noir, 6 mini desserts, a container full of after dinner mint chocolates, plus a disposable tablecloth, plates and cutlery. They didn’t want us to have to do ANYTHING for dinner tonight.
It was totally not necessary, but boy was it appreciated. So thoughtful. Even if you think Olive Garden is disgusting or not real food or whatever, it was a super thoughtful gesture. (That lasagna was pretty good, even more so because I didn’t have to cook it!)
