Partially this. Partially if things go correctly, it won't matter if they work or not (no spacewalk) and mainly cause we can simulate space

conditions here on Earth. Lack of atmosphere, heat, cold, radiation.
About the only condition that's really difficult and for limited time is microgravity. There's the parabolic airplane flights to allow humans to get limited experience.
However that's to some extent the easiest condition to design for
