So the maximum possible 7 (even if NASA has currently set the spec at four) would allow for a crewed rescue mission for the previous ISS crew of 6 and one rescuer.
Alternately at current ISS levels of three, Three from ISS + 1 crew as rescue
I wondered if it was a way to level the field with the Boeing Starliner but that too has a base design for seven
