I don't know how it is where everyone is, but I've noted something I feared here (in Monterrey, Mex).

We left Texas a few weeks ago when they went from closed to FUCK IT WE ARE REOPENING IT ALL. That seemed insane.
In this city, numbers have been going up slowly and flatly, so "Phase 1" (restaurants with outside service, golf courses, some outdoor spaces--they're basically using the Connecticut model) began Monday.
I've noticed a SHIT TON of activity on the streets (all cars obviously) since that started, that is inconsistent with just a little small start of reopening.
My fear has always been that once the government uses the word "reopening" (as opposed to maybe better "easing some of the lockdowns") that people will go totally nuts.
Are people seeing that too in their own jurisdictions?

Data here suggests that after the Mayor or Governor say something like "we are considering opening things up in 4 weeks", there is a MAJOR uptick in

This is my concern as well. City doesn't "reopen" until next week, but still pretty strict guidelines. -- nm

There was a significant uptick in DC starting May 1, and I expect the same for June 1. -- nm

The police here seem to have thrown in the towel enforcing the 5km travel restrictions. They've said for this weekend, that they'll just be patrolling

I've noticed more activity in NYC increasing bit by bit though not in leaps and bounds or anything.

Cell service suggests it’s about 30% less than normal here in Houston. That’s... not great. -- nm
