A significant amount of minorities are religious.

Too many religious leaders promote homophobia. It was even worse in the past so they also get it passed down from their parents. Racist gay people are probably mostly explained by the latter scenario, racism passed down from family. They were probably racist before they knew (or accepted) that they were gay. It might be even harder for them to change. If their family is racist they probably have a good chance of being homophobic as well. Being gay in such a situation must be hard enough, causing even more friction with their family by changing their racist beliefs may be too much for some. If they even want to change.

Also, straight white people don't have a monopoly on ignorance, obliviousness or being full of hate or horrible in general.
