Outside of the Trump factor, I feel that something is a bit...different.... this time about people's reactions to a police death.

It feels like some people previously on the fence on the topic or not comfortable calling it a problem have fallen over the fence and that the message has gotten through more.

Now we need that to lead to substantive change (i.e. assume the officers are convicted, that's not the end. That doesn't fix the system issues). But I feel some level of hope that views on this are no longer stagnant like they felt they were not very long ago?

Or I'm being an optimist and need to get my head out of the sand.
