I actually don't mind the NYT publishing his op-ed.

The more people read and hear Sen. Cotton speaking with his own words, the more people will truly understand who he really is and what he really believes.

Plus, it will be impossible for him to retract his words or backtrack or pawn this off as "off the cuff remarks." It's published in the New York Fucking Times.
