And maybe I'm making a distinction without a difference here. But where you're seeing "Protests won't cause a COVID spike," I'm seeing "The COVID spike that's coming next isn't [initially] going to be from the protests." Granted, I think it will ultimately be impossible to distinguish between causes, but the latter doesn't preclude outright the idea that protests are a COVID risk, but takes into account other contributing factors which people trying to pin all the blame on the protests are conveniently ignoring.
