The difference with Michael Brown and so many of these other situations....

there is video of him stealing shit from a convenience store and shoving the smaller clerk around.

Not a super huge thing - but still, I'm pretty sure theft and assault are still illegal.

The big thing for me, though, is that there was an altercation between Brown and the cop. Which included Brown reaching in the cop's car and grabbing for his gun.

I'd be shocked to hear about a person that went for a cop's gun and didn't get shot. Also, all shots that hit Brown were from the front - which indicated he was, in fact, charging the cop.

Michael Brown is NOT George Floyd. He's NOT Philando Castile.

Did he deserve to die? No - of course not. Could the cop probably have pulled a taser and not killed Brown? Probably so.

But to me - someone actively tussling with a police officer, including trying to grab his gun - I just don't think you can be surprised when that dude gets shot.

So, TO ME - that's the difference and why I would not be using that kid as the face of a movement.

Overall - i'm thrilled that that movement is finally starting to get traction and I agree with them on 99% of what they're doing. I just don't agree with the Michael Brown aspect of it.

Again - TO ME.
