This kind of discriminatory polling wouldn't stand for a second here.

I can't get to the society benefit of compulsory voting, but Canadian voting has gotten ridiculously easy in the last twenty years. -- nm

I don’t have much for societal benefit per se, my point is more along the lines of what right does a state have to erect barriers?
