On my first trip to South Africa in 1967 we flew the TWA(?) 'milk run' down the western coast of Africa. Our first stop out of JFK was

Roberts Field, Monrovia, Liberia. The terminal building was a Quonset hut. At another stop we were allowed off the plane and served a drink in the terminal, another plane arrived with an apparent dignitary on board and we were told to put down our drinks and rushed back on board.
