Also, people on PS4 can play with people on PS5, same for XSX/XBOne.

It sounds like they are hopeful for crossplay next year.

Also if you upgrade to next gen you can take your D2 stuff with you at no extra cost within same console family. So you don't need to buy expansions twice.
