It's a lot about filtering out the noise and shining a spotlight on something that's been going on for a long time.

Some folks are going to be relieved that "Finally, we get to focus on this injustice!" I suspect that's most people here on ST. But a lot of other people are going to be "Oh, I didn't know this was going on!"
