Obviously I can't speak for the rest of the state, but here's a graph for our affiliated hospital.

We were getting updates every weekday early on, but now it's just every few days.
Confirmed = confirmed case
Investigation = case under investigation for possibility of Covid
Total = confirmed + investigation
I'm not privy to information on what percentage of the investigation group converts over to the confirmed group.

I'm in agreeance with you. It's the # of hospitalized cases I find more interesting and useful.
