In response to "MLB owners are going to kill baseball. They're going to force a 48 game season which will anger the players immensely. " by Krusty

The only way to do it would be only divisional games.

12 games against each division opponent, 6 home and 6 away. So at least you get somewhat legit division winners. It drops from 19.

Wild card would be screwed up with no good options. Best option is to keep it as is. You could also go to just one wild card. That would probably be the safest option. Traveling for one game, especially after such a short season, isn't worth the risk. You could also just dump the wild card and give one team a bye. That's safest, but gives that team too much of an advantage. You could also go with one wild card from each division. That ends up with the issue of one team getting a bye, though, so it won't work.

I also wonder how it would work in regards to service time as it relates to free agency and arbitration. Do the players get credit for a season? For just the 48 days?
