Hey folks. I thought I would update you on T's condition. As per usual, its one step ahead and one step back

When I got to speak with her Thursday night, I was over the moon. On Wednesday, she had let out an excited "Gah" when she heard my voice and made other noises to let me know she understood me.

On thursday, I was gobsmacked when she greeted me with two complete sentences. Other times she could only muster a word and sometimes she had a sentence that sounded like a mouthful of marbles, but it was so close to words, I knew what she was saying. The improvement was so great. I was going to pick her up Friday afternoon and spend Saturday at home with her.

Friday morning, her neurologist called me to let me know that the speech is indeed improving but her kidney functions were worrying him. She always has had weak kidneys and he feared that the contrast dye they loaded her up on to do an MRI had injured them. They were going to keep her through the weekend.

I spoke with her last night and noticed a little bit more improvement in her speech.

Today the doc called and told me he was surprised at the improvement in the speech (though we have a ways to go still) but the kidneys looked a little worse today. He said the specialists told him that she doesn't need dialysis yet, but she is walking a fine line. So I probably won't get to bring her home on Monday.

This is what I know right now.

Anyways thanks for all the well wishes and the Go fund me that brought me to tears. You guys are the best.
