The article in the Independent is one that I find extremely lazy in its thinking. I'll talk about it later with you.

But let me reiterate, history is made by people. People are complicated. LBJ attempted to create the Great Society, but Vietnam. Woodrow Wilson tried to establish a framework to end war, but he was a racist. George W Bush liked baseball, but he was an idiot.

For people to demand perfection is stupid. You have to look at the whole picture and determine the balance.
