My reasons for optimism: President Trump is not theoretical this time, and people aren't enthusiastic about Biden but they don't hate him like Hilary.

Still, I'm nervous and say just focus on keeping Hilary's states and getting enough of the purple states that Hilary lost by a close margin to win the Electoral College. Don't get caught up in going after red states because they look attainable.
