I'm not seeing the race called for Yvette Clarke despite being up by 27k and other races being called with slimmer margins and the same precincts -- (edited)

They’re not allowed to start counting absentee ballots for a week, and apparently some places have more absentee than in person. -- nm

Her numbers are in line with others in neighboring areas and her opponent would need every absentee ballot to go their way.

Dunno. Each district would at least know how many absentee ballots they’ve mailed out, and it may not be uniform.

Last primary there were 30k votes tallied. They're at 57k right now so a lot more people showed up to vote this year and many more chose Clarke.

I'm sure the BOE knows, but they aren't the ones "calling" the races, the news media is -- nm

Sure, but NYT has only called a few dem primaries. Some are higher margins, some are lower. I wouldn’t be surprised if they knew how many absentee

AND, there are already almost *double* the total votes of the close 2018 primary race that she won

I get being cautious this year with all of the absentee ballots but this race is over and should have been called already.

It's 62.3% to 17.9%. I think they can safely call the race with 57k votes tallied. That's more than the total votes in the last primary. -- (edited)

Yeah, it's a little odd to me and that crossed my mind.

She had the same primary challenger in 2018 and it was close, 53-47. It's not even a ballgame this year.

Yup. Her numbers are beyond what absentee ballots can make up and she's beyond others that have been called with less votes and less of a lead -- nm
