So on a baguette, butter yes or no? For whatever impulse reasons I purchased one today which might be the first time I've purchased bread in years -- (edited)

I made the mistake of looking up how one eats it. Uh, primarily to reassure myself that I wasn't just being lazy when I get around to just tearing pieces off it. Hey, at sometimes I really am Asian and I generally don't do bread on my own. I'll eat it and enjoy it as I'm not that gluten free guy but I'm typically not going to go out of my way to have bread
But looking that up led me to entire discussions about butter or not with regards to baguettes.

I disagree that butter isn’t eaten with baguette in France. It’s very common to have a baguette for breakfast with butter and jam.

I only put butter on untoasted bread in restaurants. At home I'll put french/italian bread in the oven before putting on butter. -- nm
