But I can accept that criticism as well. I may not be well versed in all the intricacies of Islam. I do think that having these discussions is important to becoming more informed. I shouldn't paint with a wide brush either. Take this linked article.
There is a lot to digest there including the choice the woman has made.
I'm sure there are arguments to be made that the history of the practice should be evaluated. I have found it interesting the times I've encountered content from women who choose to wear it and how they feel that they are taking ownership of the practice much like how African Americans have with the words used against them. Those are tricky subjects that I can't readily speak to and will instead respect their decisions. It doesn't, however, change the things that are being done to hurt people in the name of this religion that need to be addressed...
