So, I was considering giving blood recently but now I'm reluctant because I don't want to get tested for COVID. Is that weird or wrong?

I'm afraid that if I get tested and it shows I have it (asymptomatic) or maybe even if I had it, then my whole family has to quarantine. Kids can't go to work, wife, etc.
I know that seems selfish but...

It's far better to know and to deal with it than to hide from it. I totally get that it's scary. But better to deal with it now than later

Oh and one more thing. If you have antibodies, your plasma could be used to help someone who currently has severe COVID. -- nm

If you have it and you have to quarantine you are potentially saving the lives of people you know. Get a grip. -- nm

They don't test for COVID, they test for antibodies. This is two different kinds of tests. If you have antibodies, that suggests you already had it (past). -- (edited)

Huh? Wouldn't you want to know so you can deal with it rather than just ignore it and then possibly spread it? -- nm
