In response to "Snowpiercer had a two dimensional fight scene this week. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. -- nm" by David

I made my parents watch Hamilton on Saturday so I could see it again. Mom loved it (and was surprised), dad was silent through almost all of it except

for two comments:

Not long after Lafayette appeared, he said "is that the guy from Snowpiercer?" which they are watching. Mom (bless her heart), said "who?" "which one?" "the one on the right?" and for some reason kept missing whenever Diggs was on screen in early parts of the first act, and I tried to hint that he has a much bigger part later and is the best guy in the entire thing.

And he asked me to pause it at the end of "The Room Where It Happens" to see if my mom understood exactly what happened (and said how it made the US unique in that the financial capital and the political capital were two different locations, which more or less had not been true of any other country at that point).

He's a retired US History teacher, remember (and had read the Chernow biography before the musical premiered, but said it was too long)

He said he liked it, though.
