Probably all of the above, and this new strain is contagious, but less deadly. -- (edited)

Then you add that they have a good drug (remdesivir), and much smarter treatments (putting people on their stomachs) to a younger infected population, and it makes a good deal of sense to me.
Hopefully, the numbers stay down.
Also, in most U.S. states, even if the death certificate says COVID19, they need a positive test in order to be part of the coronavirus death total. Some states do count those death certificate deaths without a test as "probable". The official Johns Hopkins total doesn't count probable deaths, AFAIK.
