sycor - I have some suggestions on buying a car (I assume it's new)

Used has a lot more wiggle room, but if it's new:

1. Find the car you want, go test drive it, see if they'll give you a quote.

2. Thank them and leave. This is the most important part.

3. Research online sites like Kelly Blue Book or TrueCar (as spamlet suggested). This will give you a very good idea of what ballpark you should be in.

4. If you're comfortable in that ballpark, go a few hundred to a thousand lower, and

5. Make that offer be the "I want to walk out the door, tax, tag and title for $XXX amount."
