thought that they would be too proud to take it and didn't want to embarrass them.
Plus he did give his Tri-Wizard Tournament winnings (1000 Galleons) to Fred and George to start their joke shop. The twins business became very successful and I expect that F&G (and later G alone) would have contributed to the family's well-being.
