It's also a lot of "He pisses off the people who piss off me." There's a vein of voter who feels lost in modern political culture and....

...It's made them angry and annoyed that other issues, particularly social issues that they don't view as particularly mainstream, seem to get all the attention while their issues are downplayed or outright ignored. Trump's belligerence towards the entrenched political culture appeals to those voters. (I appreciate that this is practically cliche in 2020 and hardly insightful.)
