In response to "Wholly agree with you--it's a huge problem...we can't solve anything rationally anymore. I'm seeing this more on the left and it's troubling. THAT sa" by JackDawson

It depends. I think there is a strong element of "You're fucking insane" when it comes to Defund the Police extremists, trans in elementary school...

...extremists, even some of the glorification of abortion choice even if I find myself as a pro-lifer who accepts that abortion should be protected in law.

The test I like to throw out is this one:

"Over the last sixty years, there has been tremendous shifts on many social issues. Where niche opinions became the mainstream opinion in a short period of history and where the outcome consensus was directly opposite of the mainstream opinion held before. Think gay and lesbian rights as an example. There were many mainstream people opposed - including famously Obama - who ran against same sex marriage as recently as 2008 and 2012.

So here's the test: What's a position that you hold today that you could see yourself changing on in ten years time? To the point where you may even feel a little ashamed for holding the opposite opinion? History suggests that there will be at least one or two."
