KC seems like the worst team to place that bet on.

Any other team has to win twice in 13 years. KC needs to have 3 in 14 years. It is incredibly difficult to repeat. Especially when that victory leads to making your most underpaid player a huge cap hit. That leads to your team needing to make cost-saving moves, usually by releasing players a bit early. The most likely way to win such a bet is if a team wins with a QB in their first 2 seasons so that they can't renegotiate for a new deal after winning the SB.
The bet seems to be trying to convince people that KC is the new Pats. Mahomes contract indicates that at the very least they aren't going to do it the same way. NE lucked out by having a QB who was willing to play under market value for most of his career in deference to winning.
