I test drove the Honda Passport this weekend. I really like the car. I'm looking at the EXL level with All wheel drive. I'm just really not sure the AWD is needed. Plus it's back ordered until September. I live in NC, so we get ice and very little snow. When it goes ice, I just don't drive and stay at home because nothing drives well on ice. I like to go to the mountains, but don't really off road, and I occasionally go to the beach, but would probably never drive actually on the beach.
I'm starting to think I don't really need an AWD version and should just get the FWD. Any opinions from people who have AWD vehicles?

I was going to ask if you tested a subaru, but instead I will just say, in your weather situation it probably doesnt offer a ton more

You might also want to see what FWD vs AWD does to the value of the vehicle when it comes time to sell/trade in. nm

AWD is great for rain as well. The downside is that when one tire needs to be changed, they ALL need to be changed.

I've got an SUV with automatic AWD; it's only ever activated one time that I'm aware of. Prevented fishtailing. -- nm

You can probably get away with FWD. That being said, I'll never not get AWD again

If it's not cost-prohibiting, get the AWD. -- nm
