Taxes question - asking for a friend.

so...say someone was not in the country right now, can't get to a printer, can't efile, and needs to get taxes filed (since tomorrow is the deadline). This is for 1040s.

Say that someone has a friend print out the forms.

The taxes are supposed to be signed by the person, but they obviously can't.

What options does the friend have?

There's a "Paid Preparer" signature area, but for "Firm Name" it has "Self-Prepared," so that doesn't seem correct for the friend to sign there.
