I don't believe I attributed a motivation to you. I held you accountable for an obnoxious and unwarranted response.

There was absolutely nothing in my initial response that was political. You attributed that view to me and I called you out for doing that.
And I think you are underestimating the issues even in New York. They are not prepared in the ways Europe prepared. Investing in the schools to provide more social distancing and sanitation in classrooms. We have not made the necessary investments, do not have the testing and tracing capacity and have not reached the low levels that Europe has. So yeah, if we did all those things, sure we might be able to open. But we're not, so that makes this much more complicated. Elementary schools can probably open. Transmission rates among the youngest are very low. When you're hitting middle school and high school it gets more complicated. They are less symptomatic but there are still serious health effects for a significant number. The real likely answer here is that it's going to need to be different depending on the location (as you suggest) and probably some combination of in school and home for many. But again, there is no one right answer here so while it's fair game to discuss the pros and cons, you don't need to patronizing in your responses claiming that all we really care about is politics. I'm not the only one you've leveled that at. We can still attack the right's bungling of this and still try to make sense of an evolving science and options.
