We approve zoning for a bunch of people to move here, but don't have a high enough gas tax to build the roads they need. -- nm

It kind of pisses the socialist in me off. I pay taxes for roads, ergo, when we need more roads, they should build them.

The problem typically is lack of existing budget to pay for the widening/new road upfront. So they finance them with toll revenue. -- nm

Right, but I still think once they make that back, they should remove the tolls.

I agree. I don't know the specifics of the toll authority in FL but I would hope toll revenue is specifically set aside for roads under them. -- nm*
