Also, the Worker's Comp policy should be posted somewhere visible to all employees, with the insurer's phone number. Give them a call and ask.

And then tell your boss what the insurer told you.
Or just mention that you were interested in calling the insurer to find out what a worker's comp claim would involve if someone got sick. That should be enough to scare the executives into righting things.
