didn't tell me is that there's a huge import tax on sneakers and it's based on the cost of the item, shipping charges and insurance.
So he's looking at a huge import tax of over 200 Euros to pick up the sneakers. I feel bad but I'm not sure what I could have done differently.
The insurance was $650 because if they got lost I wanted to get most of my money back. I actually sold them for more but that's the most insurance they would give me.
Here we can import goods up to $800 in value so import taxes aren't something I ever think about.
