My memory is that it’s part of the agreement with the insurance policy. If you sustain an injury that’s covered that’s from an accident,

and there’s any coverage/payout from the accident, you agree to provide a portion to the insurer.
A few times in years previous, we’d received inquiries from our insurer regarding procedures, asking if the injury or need was the result of an accident. I had actually prepared a template response I could just change the date on the say, “No.” since it happened so many times.
So it was can of interesting to finally respond with a yes, and then make an appointment to see their lawyer and bring my check book.
