I hope this is the case (and I'm reasonably confident that there will be a peaceful, if chaotic, transfer of power), but ...

The system has been under incredible strain for the past four years. Institutions have been decimated. Checks and balances are unchecked and unbalanced.
An environment has been created that could allow the pieces to fall into place to seize control.
But it would be incredibly difficult, still, and I kind of feel like Trump is too lazy for that.
