That's why I put in those caveats. You're doubling the potential exposure points is the risk there.

From everything I've seen, boarding and deplaning are the big exposure possibilities as groups of people congregate in one space. You're doubling both of those with a connecting flight.
We've started to take a risk/reward approach to things so YMMV. We're going to FL next week because the places we're going aren't so bad and it's a one time shot to see the Mars Rover launch. We'll minimize our risks as much as possible but to us the reward outweighs the risk. In your case, I don't know what the reward is so it's harder to do that but that's how we've been looking at it if that helps.
