Fair or not, separation anxiety works both ways. Both parent and child want the anxiety minimized during the separation, and the most probable way for the to happen is in a familiar environment.

No, I think parents recognize this is an inconvenience for the sitter (well, at least I do), but it's part of the job requirement.
