So...did baseball’s finances change that much or did Mookie Betts hate Boston that much?

He said for years, test the market...

He gets traded and then takes at best, a reasonably compact market value contract. I’ve seen 30mil a year which is low for Trout Jr. He at least should be 32-33mil.

Did his agents fear that money wouldn’t be there in the offseason? Or did he just push Boston to get him gone via market threat? I hate saying it but Boston is pretty much not a Black player friendly town. Even if you’re on their team, you still hear the slurs that seem common toward others.
