Bought an external SSD for my son's computer. They're tiny!

I suppose the old platter drives had skewed my expectations. I should have expected that modern solid state drives would be different. It's just an M.2 drive in an enclosure. Doesn't really give it that permanent feel that you'd expect from an external hard drive. Indeed, he immediately started plugging it into other stuff like his phone. Nifty little thing. It's little more than a thumb drive with a cable.
